Wiener Neustadt Drone Team wins Gold at World Championship – Supported by BECOM

An extraordinary achievement by BRG Gröhrmühlgasse/Wiener Neustadt makes us at BECOM especially proud: the student team won the gold medal at the Drone World Championship in Beijing – as the only team from all of Europe.

The young talents Máté Salánki, Sebastian Karaffa, and Philip Hanspeter (all in 4th grade) had already proven themselves as winners at the Aerial Junior Challenge during ECER 2025 in Innsbruck. In China, they once again demonstrated their skills on the international stage. More than 4,000 participants competed in an arena reminiscent of a football stadium for the top spots. The team programmed their drone themselves, which flew precisely through the course and secured the victory.

“With technical excellence, strong initiative, and remarkable team spirit, the students not only qualified for this international stage,” praised the organizers.

BECOM as a supporter of young talent
As one of the main sponsors, BECOM made it possible for the students to participate in the world championship. Technical guidance was provided by Alexander Filipp and Christian Filipp, who trained and supported the team before and during the competition days.

For us at BECOM, this success is a perfect example of how targeted support for young talent and technical commitment can empower young people to perform at an international level. We warmly congratulate the team of BRG Gröhrmühlgasse on this outstanding success and are delighted to have accompanied them on their journey.
