BECOM Innovation Award
Welcome to the official website of the BECOM Innovation Award, a prestigious award that recognises outstanding diploma theses in the field of electronics and strengthens the partnership between HTL Pinkafeld and the BECOM Group.
The BECOM Innovation Award was created to put the innovative ideas and projects of HTL Pinkafeld students in the spotlight. With this award, we want to promote young talents, honour their creativity and commitment and encourage them to play an active role in shaping the future of the electronics industry.
Our mission is to strengthen the collaboration between educational institutions and the industry, while providing young talents with a platform to showcase their forward-thinking projects. The BECOM Innovation Award offers participants the opportunity to present their work to a panel of experts and a broader audience from business and politics, while gaining valuable experience for their professional future.
Since 2023, the best diploma theses from the HTL Pinkafeld are evaluated annually by an external and internal expert jury, with the most promising projects being selected for the finals. During a festive event held at our headquarters in Hochstraß, the best projects are awarded cash prizes and a trophy.
Eligibility
All students of HTL Pinkafeld currently working on a diploma thesis in the field of electronics and wishing to present their innovative projects to a wider audience are eligible to participate.
Prizes
In addition to a generous cash prize, the winning projects will be honored with the coveted Innovation Award.
Step 1: Submission
The works must be submitted by Thursday, March 26, 2026 at the latest via email to innovationaward@becom-group.com.
For the pre-selection, in addition to the full diploma thesis, we require a short project description (max. 5 minutes reading time) and, if possible, a short video. If you have any questions regarding the submission, please also contact the email address above.
Step 2: Pre-selection by our expert jury
Our expert jury consists of renowned representatives from the business sector as well as members of the management and staff of BECOM Group. Based on a catalog of criteria, which includes factors such as degree of innovation, market potential, and implementation maturity, your work will be evaluated by the end of April and a pre-selection will be made.
Step 3: Award Ceremony at the BECOM Innovation Award Gala
The five best works will be invited to the final presentation and award ceremony as part of a gala, which will take place this year on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
